The best things in life are NOT free…Why?

Because everything we do, from the moment we get up in the morning, to the <Insert your daily activities here>, finally to the moment we lay ourselves to bed at night, has one thing in common; it is inherently valuable that we should consider it as the “Ultimate Currency.”

Time is the most precious article humans have, one thing we all share regardless of class structure, age, gender or race. Our use of time differs from each individual, as does the value we assign to it. Time can be spent or traded, but how efficiently is this done? Does the value of our time equal the means that we are trying to reach?

Here is how I trade/spend my time for the things that I find are The best things in MY life:

  • Career – I trade my time for money, because money is a resource I use for valuable things I need to survive and at the same time have some fun and create memorable moments.
  • Health – To become healthy, I spend time hitting the gym and buying/cooking healthy foods. I do my best to at least hit the gym 3-4 times a week and always eat a healthier selection of food available, with the occasional “indulging” of my favourite treats such as chocolate, steak, wine and sushi!
  • Family & Friends – spending time with my family & friends are of utmost importance to me because of the values I receive from them, such as great respect, building long lasting relationships, creating a stronger bond, socializing to expand/enlighten my ways of thinking and last but certainly not least they are always there to help me out when I’m in need.
  • Self-Improvement – I have been trading my time (and money) in developing my life to live the way I want to live and "become the best version of myself" as my good friends Dave and Myke would say. I buy, borrow, download books and read the valuable contents within then apply these values in my life.
  • Traveling – I aim to spend time in different places of the world at least 2-3 times a year. Occasionally I have the privilege of traveling for free through my Mom’s company benefits (Thank you Mom!!) but I also save a certain amount of time from work and money (also from work) for traveling. Traveling to me offers a broad range of values, from learning a new culture down to sitting at a nice beach and just relaxing.

After reading how I spend/trade my time, ask yourself...

"If the BEST things in life requires MY TIME...How do I want to SPEND it?"
